Student of the Month

In 2011, the PBL Education Foundation took over the administration of the Student of the Month award in the high school.  After discussion with the administration and guidance department, the Foundation shifted the focus of the award from  a recognition of senior achievement to a recognition of students who demonstrate the district mission of “excellence through rigor, relevance and relationships.”

All students in the high school are eligible for consideration.  Teachers nominate students who have made dramatic academic improvement or who have performed an exceptional random act of kindness.  Teachers are also free to choose another criteria as long as it demonstrates the school’s mission. Each month, the guidance department and administration choose the winner from the pool of nominees. At the end of the school year, all of the students of the month and their families are honored at a celebration.

This award is currently  funded by Hudson’s Drug and Hallmark Shop and the Gilbane Building Company.  The Foundation is very grateful for its business sponsors who make it possible for us to provide special programs to our students and community.
