It Only Takes Cents
2007-2008 Campaign

PBL Education Foundation Board Member Jim Biggs plays a game of Deal or No Deal with PBL Unit 10 faculty members Jim Zenner, Kristen Molck Oyer, Jodie Ross Coplea, and Peg Chandler on the opening day of school. Faculty and staff members responded well to the game and donated $3,594.25 to the It Only Takes Cents campaign for the 2007-08 school year.

An annual fund-raising campaign of the PBL Education Foundation since 2004 has been our program called It Only Takes Cents. Donors are asked to donate from five cents to $1 for each student enrolled in the PBL Unit 10 school district for that year. Donations from this campaign are use to supply grants to PBL educators. Targeted donors include:

A mass mailing to:
a. Local Business people
b. Civic-minded individuals in the community
c. Retired Faculty from the district
d. Alumni from Buckley, Loda, Roberts, Paxton, and PBL schools
Payroll deductions from current staff and faculty of the PBL school system
Vendors for the PBL school system
Parents of youngsters as they register their children for school in the fall
Attendees at various school functions, such as open houses and athletic events

Foundation board members would sincerely like to thank the donors who have responded so generously thus far with a total of $17,276.75. The following is a summary of donations by group as of early June, 2008: Alumni--$6,332.50; Local Businesses--$3,455; Community-Minded Citizens--$1,545; Retired Educators--$2,325; Current Unit #10 Faculty/Staff--$3,619.25.
