Earlier this year, PBL High School art teacher Emily Valencia received a $400 Opportunity Grant from the PBL Education Foundation for the purchase of a portable LCD projector. The projector allows students to turn their artwork into murals with much greater precision and efficiency than older technology did.
Valencia has been very active in giving her students opportunities for displaying their artwork. Last year, advanced art students produced a mural for Paxton business, Reefs-R-Us. Since students have painted a panther mural in the concession area and in Mr. Duley’s office. They have also painted motivational quotations in the girls’ locker room and a large Periodic Table in the chemistry classroom.
