The April Student of the Month for PBL High School is senior Damon Tomblin, son of Kevin and Annie Tomblin of rural Paxton.
Damon was nominated by two of his teachers, Alex Goudy and Vicki St. Peter. Both teachers emphasized his work ethic, both at school and in his work. Goudy wrote, “Damon has worked very hard this year in his academics. He even asked to have his schedule changed so that he could do better in a specific English class.” St. Peter added, “He comes to school every day and puts 110% effort into each day. He then follows his time at school by going to work daily , where he puts more time in. When he gets home, he does any school work that is due the following day.”
Goudy made special mention of his job through his work study program, “Damon works at Trav’s Automotive in Gifford in the afternoons. They love him at his place of work. Earlier in the year they asked if Damon would work more hours.” Both teachers referred to his personal qualities and called him “a great young man to be around.”
Damon already has a post-graduation job offer. He will be working for MUTI, a company that builds cell phone towers.
