Senior Adreanna Zalaker has been chosen as the March Student of the Month at PBL High School. She is the daughter of Robert Zalaker and lives in Buckley. She was nominated by her art teacher, Emily Valencia.
Valencia wrote, “Throughout the year, Adreanna has shown again and again her outstanding character through her work ethic and interaction with peers. Just recently, in preparation for an upcoming art show, she completed two significant sculpture projects in a limited amount of time, with most of the production time spent outside of class. I think what I find most impressive about Adreanna is her positive demeanor and respect for her peers and teacher. She is the first one to help a struggling classmate, and the first to stand up for any classmate if need be. She is kind, supportive, and very well represents PBL’s mission of rigor, relevance, and relationships.”
Adreanna’s first love is art, and that’s where she spends most of her free time. She also cleans houses for people as a part-time job. She said, “I love art, and I love to do things that help people.” She also likes to hunt for antiques and second-hand items that she can use in her art projects.
Adreanna’s plans for the future include attending a two-year school to study in the fine arts. She would also like to open an on-line store of her artwork. And then, in the more distant future, she wants to go back to school to study to become an art teacher.
